  2. 2022-02-08 · Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ)

According to Estadão, Flávio signed the proposal with other Planalto allies and asked for his name to be added when there were already enough signatures. Paulo Guedes’s team nicknamed it the “Kamikaze PEC”[6].

Flávio

Yes in June, no in December

According to Estadão, Flávio signed the PEC in February, when there were already enough signatures[6]. In June, he voted yes on the R$ 600 that ended with 2022[3][1]. In December, with the election over, he voted no on the PEC that kept the R$ 600[4].

The government

“Kamikaze”, in the words of Guedes’s team

The nickname did not come from the opposition. It came from Jair Bolsonaro’s own economic team, for the February version[6]. In July, minister Paulo Guedes defended the approved version in the Senate as “the goodies PEC”[2].

It was R$ 41.25 billion outside the cap, set to end at the close of the election year[1][7]. The opposition, including the PT, voted in favor and criticized the government’s handling[1].

The vote

The STF saw the date

In 2024, the STF ruled the amendment unconstitutional for releasing funds in an election year. Justice Flávio Dino found that the spending was approved to circumvent election rules. Rapporteur André Mendonça rejected the case because its effects ended on 12/31/2022. Those who received the money do not pay it back[8].

Flávio is now asking for your vote. On the 25th, remember when he said yes to the R$ 600 and when he said no[3][4].
