Flávio Bolsonaro asked Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, for US$ 24 million to fund a film about his father; at least US$ 10.6 million was paid[1]. The bank collapsed with the largest financial shortfall in the country’s history, R$ 47.3 billion[2]. Now a candidate, Flávio is under investigation in the inquiry into the film[3].

6x1 workweek

Flávio's campaign wants a vote on ending the 6x1 workweek only after the election.

The Senate begins debating the constitutional amendment proposal (PEC) to end the six-days-on, one-day-off workweek on October 6, 19 days before the runoff[4]. Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign coordinator said he hoped it would be voted on “after the elections”[5]. On 5 October, according to Agência O Globo, “Flávio and his allies oppose discussing the measure before the presidential election result”[6]. Asked in August and September, Flávio did not say how he would vote[7][8].

Pix

On the night of the tariff hike, Flávio thanked Trump. To the US, he offered to limit Pix connections.

Hours after Trump announced a 50% tariff on Brazil, Flávio Bolsonaro wrote: “Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump”[9]. When the US accused Brazil of favoring Pix[10], he said here that “nobody will touch Pix”[11] and, in writing to Washington, offered a law preventing Pix from connecting to “non-Western” systems in other countries[12][13].

Militia

The Alerj’s highest honor was delivered in prison. By Flávio.

In 2005, Flávio Bolsonaro proposed the Tiradentes Medal, the Alerj’s highest honor, for military police officer Adriano da Nóbrega, then in prison accused of killing a parking attendant, a charge of which he would be acquitted in 2007[14]. In 2019, Adriano was formally accused of leading a militia; he died in 2020, before any trial[15].

Gasoline

In the month gasoline peaked, Flávio assured voters: “it will not change”

In May 2022, a litre of gasoline cost an average of R$ 8.67 in today's money: the highest price since 2016[16]. On the 18th of that month, Flávio Bolsonaro, a senator and his father's campaign coordinator, assured voters that Petrobras's pricing policy would not change[17].

Lula began the current government with 11 women among 37 ministers, a record[18]; Flávio’s father’s government began with 2 among 22[19]. Now a candidate, Flávio called the Maria da Penha Law, signed by Lula[20], a "piece of paper", in a speech advocating longer prison terms for abusers[21].
